Privacy policy
helpmeunsub is free and built to help you cancel, not to collect your data. Here's exactly what we do and don't hold about you.
The short version: you can use the whole site without giving us anything. The only personal data we ever receive is what you choose to type into the contribute form, and even there, your email is optional.
Who we are
helpmeunsub is operated by 100byte, based in the United Kingdom. If you have any question about your privacy or this policy, email us at enquiries@100byte.co.uk.
What we collect
Browsing the site collects no personal data from you. We do not ask you to sign up, log in, or create an account, and we do not build a profile of you.
The only place you can share information with us is the contribute form, where you can:
- Suggest a company we don't yet cover, or
- Report a correction to something we've listed.
On that form, your email address is optional. You only give it if you'd like us to be able to reply. Everything else you type (the company name, notes, or a correction) is the content of your message to us, not data we go looking for.
How that form works
The contribute form is handled by a third-party form service (Web3Forms), which passes your submission to us by email so we can read it. Your submission is processed to deliver that message and nothing else. We don't add it to a mailing list, and we don't sell or share it.
How we use what you send
- To read your suggestion or correction and, if it checks out, update the library.
- To reply to you, but only if you chose to leave an email address.
We keep submissions only as long as we need them to act on your message, then remove them.
Cookies and analytics
Right now we run no analytics and no advertising, and we set no tracking cookies. See our cookies page for the full detail. If that ever changes, for example if we add basic visitor analytics or ads to keep the site free, we will update this policy and the cookies page first, and reflect it in any on-site notice.
Your rights
Because we hold so little, there is usually nothing to request. But if you did send us a message with your email, you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. Just email enquiries@100byte.co.uk and we'll sort it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles data, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
