How to cancel PlayStation Plus

Before you cancel

• There's no fixed contract, so you can cancel anytime. Your access simply runs to the end of the period you've paid for.
• Expect to be offered a retention discount or loyalty deal to make you stay. If you're sure you want to cancel, stand your ground.
• There may be a notice period, so you can be billed for a short while after you ask to leave. Cancel as early as you can.
• Cancel from the account you actually pay with, and make sure you're the billing owner before you start.
• Get a confirmation (on-screen or by email) and keep it as proof of the date you cancelled.

How to cancel PlayStation Plus, step by step

1. On the web: sign in to PlayStation Account Management, select 'Subscription', then select 'Cancel Subscription' next to PlayStation Plus.
2. On PS5: Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Subscriptions > PlayStation Plus > 'Cancel Subscription'.
3. On PS4: go to PlayStation Plus > Manage Membership > Subscription (or Settings > Account Management > Account Information > Subscriptions) > select PlayStation Plus > 'Cancel Subscription'.
4. In the PS App (mobile): tap the PlayStation Store icon > menu (top right) > Subscriptions Management > 'Cancel' below the subscription.
5. Cancelling turns off auto-renewal; you keep benefits until the end of the current period, then it deactivates from the next payment date.
